Test Prep Resources

It’s never too early to start planning for the PSAT and SAT. The College Board offers several practice tests online that will help students prepare and optimize their scoring ability with individualized lessons on Khan Academy. Due to the collaboration between the College Board and Khan Academy, students will have access to questions that align with those they will actually encounter on the PSAT 10/SAT.

The following is a link to the SAT presentation that was given by Dr. Morse on 2/21/19:

There are many different test prep organizations and companies; however, NKHS does not endorse any one test prep organization.

Any student can access free SAT preparation by visiting khanacademy.org or satpractice.org.  In April 2019, all  juniors will take the SAT and all sophomores will take the PSAT.  Guidance counselors visited advisory classes this past fall and they instructed students on how to link their College Board account to Khan Academy. The handout on how to link the two accounts is posted here.

Because the two agencies have teamed up, Khan Academy utilizes a student's PSAT score to completely customize free SAT preparation that is targeted toward a student's needs.  Students in grades 10-12 were provided with a instructions and a handout which details how to link the two accounts (College Board and Khan Academy).  Please see attached.

If a student did not take the PSAT, the student can access free SAT prep on Khan Academy.  The student should go to khanacademy.org and select "SAT practice".  The student will take a SAT practice test and Khan Academy will use the results to create a customized, free SAT prep.
